Another Upcoming Course – Did the Old Testament Endorse Slavery?

Did the Old Testament Endorse Slavery?

The Old Testament contains numerous commandments, regulations, and moral pronouncements that are often difficult for people to make sense of today. What did the Old Testament say about slavery? The Old Testament appears to have been very clear…fathers could sell their daughters into slavery, masters could beat their slaves, creditors could carry off children for failure to repay a debt, and foreigners could be kept for life, passed down as inherited property. Without a fair amount of cultural and historical context, many examinations are soon lost in the weeds of modern misconceptions and biases.

This course will be taught by Joshua Bowen PhD, an Assyriologist and author of Did the Old Testament Endorse Slavery? – which will serve as the foundational text for this course. All course materials will be provided by the instructor prior to each class session.

This course will consist of four (4) sessions of ninety (90) minutes each. This is an online course delivered via Zoom.

Classes will meet on Thursdays at 5PM PST beginning March 31st.

Cost: $60 per student. Students registered before March 24th will receive priority.

Fees can be paid via check or PayPal to Digital Hammurabi. If you have any questions about registering for the course you can contact Dr Josh at digitalhammurabi@gmail.com

Minimum class size is ten (10) students, maximum thirty (30).
